RCDC provided Sustainability & MEP designs for the redesign of Wokingham Borough Councils St Crispins Leisure Centre. The redesign was based on a Salix Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) exercise, which included the successful submission for Phase 2 of the PSDS.
The design works involved new heat pumps on the roof of the building, with separate hot water and heating pump systems following an overview assessment of all decarbonisation opportunities for the leisure centre to compile a Heat Decarbonisation Plan, and review of the most cost and carbon efficient options to determine the most effective interventions.
The submitted application for Salix funding for the addition of Air Source Heat Pumps and PV was successfully secured, but not pursued by the client due to council contribution costs.
