Building Services Design
RCDC are experienced MEP designers having worked across all sectors. We often take projects to a detailed design stage, as well as working on design and build contracts. We work with a mix of clients, and are comfortable with both client side or contractor side roles.
We apply sustainability and low energy principals to all of our design work and we like to work closely with clients to agree appropriate design criteria to achieve the required internal conditions whilst keeping energy usage and sustainability to a minimum.
We push for fully electrical buildings on all of our projects, as we struggle to justify long term sustainability for projects that incorporate fossil fuels within them.
Sustainability Consultancy
RCDC are experts in sustainable buildings. We can tailor our offer to suit the requirements of any given client or project.
We often provide the following services:
Energy and Sustainability statements as part of planning proposals,
Undertake predictive energy calculations to determine how much energy buildings are likely to use, and provide advice on how to reduce this,
Provide details on how to achieve Net Zero Carbon performance for buildings through predictive energy modelling,
Provision of Energy Performance Certificates as part of the design and build process,
Review of existing buildings to advice on potential changes that can reduce energy usage and carbon emissions.
Sustainable Strategy Development
RCDC can provide strategic estate wide advice on how to reduce and move towards a Net Zero Carbon built estate.
Where we have previously provided this service, we prefer to build long term relationships where we can develop a comprehensive understanding of the clients requirements and drivers. This gives us the insight to develop a bespoke strategy for each individual client.
BREEAM, WELL & LEED
RCDC can also support with sustainable accreditations, including BREEAM, LEED and WELL. The team has a wide range of experience with accreditations. Primarily with BREEAM for which we have worked on both standard and bespoke BREEAM accreditations, as well as for both CAT A and CAT B fit outs, and projects involving both refurbishment and new build elements.
The RCDC team focus on working closely with the design team to ensure the accreditation implications are understood by all members of the design team to ensure all elements are captured, to allow the project to achieve the desired rating.
