The Dinton Activity Centre is a new replacement leisure centre located within Dinton County Park, providing modern educational and leisure facilities for the community.
RCDC reviewed the existing design and provided recommendations to make it more sustainable to achieve Net Zero Operational Carbon (NZCop) for the leisure centre. RCDC provided the Lifecycle Carbon analysis which predicted the heat and energy usage of the building through our dynamic in-house tool. This informed our eventual cost-saving and carbon-saving interventions that were integrated into the design.
We undertook a full energy prediction for the building using our own bespoke TM54 Calculator.
RCDC worked closely with the architects, the modular Contractor REDS10 as well as the Contractors M&E consultant, Delap and Waller. The leisure centre has been short listed for several awards, including the Carbon Net Zero Initiative of the Year and the SECBE 2022 Finalist.
