RCDC produced MEP & Building Services Designs for Islington Borough Council's processing centre for recycling operations, for the purpose of decarbonisation. The project includes;
The refurbishment of 6 air handling units to replace the existing gas fired heating coils with electric and refrigerant coils.
Replace the existing direct gas fired domestic hot water (DHW) generation system with an air-to-water source heat pump DHW system.
Provide additional Solar Photovoltaic (PV) on the roof to increase the capacity of the existing PV system.
Upgrade the existing electrical LV infrastructure to supply the new mechanical equipment, including the construction of a New LV Switch room at the basement level.
This project is to be completed within the Salix application for new heat pumps.
As a result of RCDC’s contribution, it’s estimated that 234 tCO2 will be saved through Low Carbon Design.
