RCDC produced Sustainability & MEP Designs and advice for Wokingham Borough Council's new build Carnival Place Leisure Centre & Pool. The multi-award nominated project was completed in 2022 and form part of a wider decarbonisation masterplan.
During the project, RCDC proposed the re-design of a gas boiler system with a heat pump system alongside several passive design strategies such as highly efficient building fabrics have been utilised to reduce the energy demand thus reducing the carbon emissions.
A Building Management System was also implemented within the project allowing accessible online access for the building performance data to a range of community stakeholders.
Across the Carnival Place Hub, Energy usage was reduced by 75% per m2 compared to the previous site.
